Transparent and all my patches in the SE-70 have the direct (dry) signal turned off, so the only thing coming out of the SE-70 is the. Scott mentioned that sometimes he uses the overdrive channel of his. There are two versions, one with one circuit board and one with two circuit boards. The two board version is better.
Maxon SD-9 info:In this YouTube video we look at Scott Henderson guitar gear, Suhr amp (actually the lack of it and replaced by a Fender amp), and the equipment he uses on tour. This is a Scott Henderson 2012 interview and effects pedal demo with a focus on his preference for the Maxon SD-9 Sonic Distortion pedal. Scott Henderson is a fusion and blues guitarist best known for his work with the band Tribal Tech. The 'black sheep' of the 9-Series, the Maxon SD-9 Sonic Distortion pedal offers the best characteristics of transistor and op-amp circuits in one compact unit.
The SD9 has unique Low Boost/Hi Boost Tone control that offers more low-end beef than other effect pedals, while its Distortion and Output controls can provide up to 55 dB of gain boost. At low gain settings the Maxon SD-9 functions perfectly as a full-frequency overdrive pedal. Higher gain settings turn the SD-9 into a hand-held monster; providing gut-wrenching grind and singing sustain that will make a clean amp dirty and a dirty amp downright evil.' The Maxon SD-9 is the best distortion pedal EVER made, period.
It has the clarity and punch you get from a pedal, while retaining the low bass you get with amp distortion. The SD-9 is one of the rare pedals which sound equally great on both the neck and bridge pickups, whether they're humbucking or single coil. It's been a very important part of my tone for many years.'

This funky jazz lick is from Scott Henderson and the Tribal Tech song called Mango Prom off of the Dr. There are several great licks throughout this song This is the first one that caught my ear.
It sounds kind of “outside” but after breaking it down it really is pretty un-outside (if that’s even a word). What makes it sound cool is the tone and funky swing feel and the way he uses arpeggios and chord tones to outline each chord. If you are not familiar with Scott Henderson you should be ashamed of yourself.

Just kidding lolBut if you are not familiar with one of the most amazing guitar players of our time check out any of his videos. You will be blown away. He also has two or three instructional dvd’s that are amazing.Check out Scott Henderson website and check out his message board for four years every few months he would answer peoples email questions there is a wealth of knowledge here. Unfortunately he stopped doing this after some jerk made a rude comment to him (you can read that in his final post).I love all his stuff. But some of my favorite is off of his four solo cd’s (dog party, tore down house, well to the bone, scott henderson live) of which I plan on doing a few lessons on some of those songs soon.
If you haven’t heard them go right now and buy them every single track will make you want to slow it down and learn it note for note.Outside of his solo stuff the Vital Tech Tones and VTT2 are my other favorites.Scott is a master of tone is one of the legendary teachers at GIT.I hardly do this song justice but I hope you enjoy.Guitar Lesson Taught by David Clayton.
